Over the weekend I recorded this short home movie of the 90 seconds I was watching the clouds on the balcony before I started drawing. The day was bright with a blue sky, but very windy, and the clouds were rushing past each other.

No fim-de-semana gravei neste pequeno filme caseiro dos 90 segundos em que estive a ver as nuvens na varanda antes de começar a desenhar. O dia estava luminoso com o céu azul, mas com muito vento e as nuvens corriam rápidas umas a seguir às outras.

Clouds drawn in a comic strip - November, which I did last year. The sunny days panel is what I see when I’m inside sitting at my drawing board or at the other side on the balcony at the little table - my “Quiet Place”.

Nuvens desenhadas na BD - Novembro que fiz no ano passado. A vinheta dos dias ensolarados é o que vejo quando estou sentada cá dentro a desenhar no estirador ou lá fora, na mesa pequenina da varanda - o meu “Quiet Place”.

The Quiet Place is my drawing table, my creative corner inside my room in a 5th floor with a view to a valley. Sometimes this Quiet Place is also outside in the valley and surroundings. This is a beginning for me and I’m inviting you to come along. If you know me, you know that my conversations are quiet and always born from images and the connection with the living beings from the community where I live. 🎨🐦‍⬛📮🌳

This is a space where you can support me and where I hope to support and inspire you with my art.

O Quiet Place é a minha mesa de desenho, o meu espaço criativo dentro do meu quarto no 5ºandar com vista para o vale. Às vezes é lá fora, no vale e arredores. Este espaço é “um começo” e um convite para que me acompanhes. Se me conheces, sabes que as minhas conversas são sossegadas e nascem sempre de imagens e da relação com os seres vivos à minha volta no espaço onde vivo. 🎨🐦‍⬛📮🌳

In Quiet Place you can print the mini-zine “12 Practices To See”:

Just use an A4 page, follow the folding instructions available there, and I hope it will inspire you to stop for a few seconds, take a deep breath and SEE, as we did today in this postcard with the clouds, but in the place where you live and “on-site”, without screens.

I made it in this portable format so you can always carry it with you or offer it to a friend. And if you’re curious, check out the “12 Practices To See” from which I took this passage about the clouds; this mini-zine is inspired by these practices that I created last year and that you can read/see in Place.

Place is my creative garden, where you can follow my practices, experiences and projects. There you can also find the November comic strip if you would like to read it.
